When installed, the appearance of Insulrock™ and Isowall™ are identical. This can be very important when an exterior wall must be fire-rated to meet a building code or insurance requirement and the remainder of the exterior walls can be panels with plastic foam cores.

- In order to be a Fire-Resistant Wall System, the wall must keep the temperature on the unexposed side of the wall under 250° Degrees Fahrenheit above the ambient temperature and prevent any fire on the unexposed side. The wall system accomplishes this by providing enough insulation throughout the fire exposure to maintain the required surface temperature. Typically the joint between panels is the weak point because the steel facings are formed to make a tongue and groove connection and effectively reduce the insulation thickness at the joint. As a result, a 5-inch thick panel may have the steel
Facing formed in that they are only 4-inches apart or less at the joint. The water or cementation composition and evaporate the water it releases.
The energy used is sufficient to keep the temperature on the unexposed side below the failure point.
The fact that a 5-inch thick Insulrock Panel is classified by UL as a 2 hour fire resistant wall is a significant advantage compared to other panel wall systems that require 7 inches. This equates to Cost Savings and Space Savings.
AIC uses fiber cement board spline in the joint.
